Be good to our clients,
kind to the earth,
and fair to our employees.
We strive to maintain the highest possible level of client satisfaction by ensuring that every event and every order is healthy and wholesome, provided at a fair price, and crafted to the highest standard of quality and care.
Our care for our clients is matched only by our commitment to sustainable food practices and local sourcing of ingredients.
COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Since 1992, On Safari Foods has worked with local purveyors to obtain fresh, local ingredients. We take great pride in supporting businesses whose values align with our own.
In keeping with our mission to practice sustainability, we strive never to waste food; therefore any surplus food is donated to missions in the Seattle area. On Safari Foods also supports local schools and non-profit organizations with in-kind donations.
Maintaining Sustainable Food and Health Practices
We highly value sustainability in food production and are constantly monitoring our suppliers as sustainable practices evolve. As an example, On Safari Foods only uses fish sources approved as “sustainable” by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program.
On Safari Foods has also been recognized as a partner in “Greener Fields Together” for our efforts to reduce waste, carbon footprint, and for our commitment to the use of sustainably grown products.
We have been composting our food scraps since we began as a company, and we offer compostable cutlery, napkins, plates, and to-go containers for clients. In addition to our standard recycling program for cardboard, plastics, and glass, we also recycle used cooking oil. Standard Biodiesel in Seattle collects our oil for re-use as fuel.
We also work to reduce waste by offering catering clients the option of reusable platters for sandwiches and salads instead of box lunches. Guests can take exactly what they want without feeling compelled to overeat and without wasting food. Utilizing reusable platters also reduces extra packaging waste.
